Vehicle Wraps & Color Changes

So what exactly is a vehicle wrap or color change, and why would I want one?

A vehicle wrap is the process of applying vinyl (a thin sheet of PVC polymer with an adhesive backing) to a car, truck, boat, ATV, and anything in between. A vehicle wrap can have anything printed on it from a business design with its corresponding information to a big pink unicorn with lightning behind it.

A color change is still vinyl, but a specially formulated type that produces specific colors and finishes to solely change the appearance of a vehicle. This can range from matte black to a special color shifting vinyl film. Both processes require the use and manipulation of heat to contour the vinyl film around complex curvature of vehicles.

Some of the benefits of vehicle wraps/color changes include the protection of paint; vinyl takes the beating from rocks, abrasions, and UV damage protecting your OEM paint similar to clear bra. The vinyl can be removed at any time within its healthy lifespan of 5-7 years to reveal the paint it was applied over in the same condition.

Another benefit of vinyl is that it is able to achieve colors and finishes that paint either cannot, or has a very hard time doing so. Matte and satin finishes are a great example of this.
